The adventure next door
Now with Grade 2 rapids right next door, you could be white water rafting in the morning, and back home for lunch! This 2-hour experience takes you through 10 rapids, over a distance of 10 km. The perfect way to start the day.
Your experience begins with a briefing session as your rafting guide takes you through the different paddling techniques, safety instructions and what to do when you fall out of the raft. You need to have no rafting experience, or even know to swim. You will wear a helmet and life jacket throughout the experience.
Get ready to scream
And now it’s time to ride nature’s very own roller coaster. You will soon discover why white water rafting is such a popular adventure experience. With your guide’s help, you will battle each rapid, get wet, and then even more wet, scream, pray and finally survive the entire 10 km without falling off. Only to have your friends throw you into the water.
You can end your session with a nice swim in the river
Kolad is on the Mumbai – Goa highway, around 3 hours drive from Mumbai.
The fastest way would be to drive down as there is no direct connection to Kolad by bus or train.
The rapids are generated when 3 hydro dams release their water every morning. Which is why Kolad is one of the few places in the country where Rafting happens all year round.
Rafting hardly ever gets cancelled, but in case this does happen, you will get a full refund.
Oh yes, you will be wearing a helmet and life jacket throughout the experience. There will be a rafting guide with you’ll in the raft as well who also doubles up as a lifeguard.
