Start with a bang
Your day starts with you screaming with fear, and joy, as you rush down a mad river in your 10 km White Water Rafting experience.
With your guide’s help you will battle each rapid, get wet, and then even more wet, scream, pray and finally survive the entire 10 kms without falling off. Only to have your friends throw you into the water.
If that wasn’t enough
Next, you head to the lovely campsite near the river, where you can go kayaking, try zip lining and even river crossing.
You’ll end the day with a hot cup of tea, and the sudden realization that the day just got over.
Kolad is on the Mumbai – Goa highway NH 17, around 3 hours from Mumbai / Pune.
The fastest way would be to drive down as there is no direct connection to Kolad by bus or train.
Transport is not included, you will need to hire a private vehicle to Kolad and back.
Yes, transport (rickshaws) can be arranged. On a shared basis the cost would be approximately Rs. 150/- per person or approximately Rs. 1,000/- for a private rickshaw.
The rapids are generated when 3 hydro dams release their water every morning. Which is why Kolad is one of the few places in the country where Rafting happens all year round. However the other activities which happen at the campsite (Kayaking, Bumper Boat ride etc.) are dependent on the water levels in the river.
Rafting hardly ever gets cancelled, but incase this does happen, you will get a full refund of your rafting booking amount.
