Get intimate with some clay and someone special as the two of you make magic in clay. Our professional potter will give you a hands-on experience, helping you understand the art of pottery. The Instructor is an internationally exhibited artist, has been artist–in–residence in Australia and part of the Wood firing Symposium in Estonia.

Dress comfortably, you are going to be sitting on a short stool and playing with clay
Carry a small towel
Bisquing and glazing are not part of this experience

Reschedule Policy: One change of date permitted with a minimum of 5 days notice BEFORE the start date of the Experience. New date must be chosen at time of rescheduling.
Getting to know the clay
Your session will start with hand building techniques, where you make learn to mould the clay into anything you can imagine. The Instructors will show you different techniques, letting you pick one that suits you.
Your first clay art
With plenty of clay to play with, you can make a cool mug, cute figures, or something for the house. The hand building session is for 1 hour 30 mins, so you can make more than one thing.
Meet the wheel
Now that you and the clay are on first name basis, it is time for the second part of your experience – the pottery wheel. With your Instructor guiding your through the process, you’ll learn how to shape the wet clay into a small bowl, make designs and add some nice finishing touches.
Everything you make in the session is yours to take home.
If you are looking for a longer duration course, then the Introduction to Pottery experience is perfect for you, it will give you a chance to see the studio, meet the instructor and actually try your hand at pottery post which you can chat up with the instructor for longer duration course options.
The pottery session is a mix of both hand-pottery and wheel pottery. As you need to get accustomed with clay, hand pottery is what you will learn quickly and enjoy the most. Wheel pottery is tough to learn, but you do get a chance to make a couple of pots with the help of the pottery instructor :).
