The most colourful beauties in Goa are not at the beach. Join multiple award winning naturalist and author, Rahul Alvares, on a journey to his secret world of butterflies in Goa. A major part of your experience will be conducted at the butterfly conservatory on the outskirts of Ponda, where you can find 15-20 species to delight in on an average day. Learn to identify different species, how to photography them, and most importantly how to just sit back and enjoy their company. This is Goa after all.
By planting specific endemic species of plants that attract butterflies, this conservatory has become a giant butterfly magnet. You can spot and photograph butterflies such as the Glassy Tiger, Crimson Rose, and the Tamil Lacewing here. Plus take a short hike uphill to spot some more. A very different way to spend a morning in Goa, and yet get back in time for a beer by the beach.
